Truck Driver – Chelsea, MA (partial description)
This is a Temp-Hire position, can go permanent after probationary period.
Summary: Drives gasoline or diesel powered tractor trailer combination to transport and deliver products, or materials in loose or packaged from by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Drives truck to destination.
2. Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.
3. Maintains driver log according to I.C. and DOT regulations.
4. Assists worker in loading and unloading truck as requested.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Educations /Experience:
High School or certificate from technical or truck driver education school; or six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid Current Drivers License, Valid CDL Class A Drivers License, Certification in Forklift operation
Certification in Jack operation, Valid Medical DOT card, CGMP Passing Grade and Food Safety Training
Physical Demands: The employee is frequently required to stand, walk or stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Food Safety / Maintenance:
All food safety and quality problems must be brought to the attention of someone with authority such as your Supervisor, Quality Technician or Quality Manager to initiate action, if necessary.
