Summary:

Employee will operate a truck of more than 3 tons in a safe manner to deliver, relocate, and remove units from branches and job sites throughout the East Region, which covers from New England through South Carolina. Candidate may be based near the following branches:

·         Uxbridge, MA

·         Pelham, MA

Primary Responsibilities:

·         Deliver, relocate, and remove units in a safe manner from branch locations and jobsites, hauling all products from storage containers to wide-loads

·         Drive to destination safely, some overnight stays required depending on location of delivery, relocation, or removal

·         Maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations.

·         Maintain all paperwork, ensuring customer signatures are collected, and daily logs are complete and handed to the dispatcher

·         Maintain constant contact with the dispatcher to receive pickup and/or delivery instruction.

·         Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water to ensure road worthiness

·         Perform emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, and spark plugs

Secondary Responsibilities (as needed):    

·         Perform set-ups and knockdowns of units

·         Block, level, and anchor units during delivery, removal of blocking material and anchoring during pickup

·         Perform any additional duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent is required.  A current valid CDL Class A license and a clean driving record are required. Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment is a must.  Some knowledge of computers is necessary and good communications skills are required for dealing with customers, sales people, contractors, shop personnel as well as William Scotsman employees at various branch locations. Previous commercial driving experience hauling wide-loads preferred. OPEN TO RECENT GRADUATES

Physical Requirements:

·         Able to lift 50 lbs daily and safely lift occasionally more

·         Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions

·         Must have good eyesight

·         Able to drive up to 8 hours (daily)
