Job Title: Casual Package Car Driver Full Time (Class D)
Casual Feeder Driver (CDL A)
Pay Rate: $18.75 /hr
Pay Rate: Feeder $26.00
* A Class D license is required and ability to drive a Manual transmission.
Minimum Driver Qualifications:
-Must be 21 years of age
-Must be able to pass D.O.T. physical
-Operate standard transmission
-Have a Clean driving record:
-No “Violations”, within the last 5 years.
- Clean Shaven
Job Description:
1. Involves driving a commercial-size vehicle that uses a standard clutch-drive transmission. The delivery and pickup of parcels requires strenuous physical exertion at a constant pace during a full work shift. Feeder position will vary.
2. Requires the ability to safely handle maximum carrying capacity of parcels of various sizes shapes and weighing up to 70 pounds each.
3. Working in accordance with prescribed methods, delivery drivers maintain a work pace of up to 20 stops per hour, handling hundreds of packages during the course of an average day. Feeder position will vary.
4. Positions occur on a Monday through Friday workweek with start times between 7:00 and 9:00a.m.
5. Work is outside and subject to climatic conditions.
6. Delivery drivers have a high degree of customer and public contact and must present themselves in a professional and business like manner.
7. Seasonal employment may be subject to work available – on call status. Not able to guarantee 40 hours a week.
8. Drivers are represented by the Teamsters. Union Membership is required and involves initiation fees and dues. ($400.00 or $500.00) benefits are not included.
9. Seasonal Period runs: October 15th, 2014- January 15, 2015
