Driver Class B CDL
Small family lumber business looking for class B CDL drivers. All of our trucks are new with auto transmissions, A/C, We deliver throughout New England and Long Island New York. No overnights .. We deliver building materials to builders and contractors Monday through Friday. Moffett (forklift) driving experience helpful.
This position is 60% Driving and 40% warehouse work, counting and putting away inventory etc...Unloading and loading of specialty wood siding, decking and many other custom products. Room for growth potential.
Pay hourly from $28 hour. Full benefits, Blue Cross Blue Shield, IRA, Vacation. Short and long term disability, life insurance, dental insurance etc. are available as well. We are a flexible family business that is in a growth mode and expanding.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Truck Driver (Class B CDL) with 2+ years of experience to join our growing logistics team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe, efficient driving and a commitment to providing reliable transportation services. This position involves transporting goods to designated locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a Class B CDL truck to transport goods to and from designated destinations.
- Ensure all deliveries are made on time and in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in safe working condition.
- Maintain accurate logs of working hours, vehicle inspections, and deliveries in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
- Communicate with dispatch and customer service teams to ensure smooth deliveries and address any issues or delays.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while on the road.
- Maintain a clean and organized truck and equipment.
- Report any accidents, traffic violations, or mechanical issues promptly to management.
- Assist with scheduling maintenance and repairs when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class B CDL driver’s license and clean driving record.
- 2+ years of experience as a commercial truck driver, with a focus on safety and reliability.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, and safety protocols.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) when necessary.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional driver training or certifications preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with local/regional routes and navigating city streets.
- Forklift certification or experience with loading/unloading.
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs).
