Position: Yard Associate
At Old Station Outdoor & Landscape Supply, the Yard Associate supports daily yard operations by assisting customers, handling and organizing materials, and maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. This role helps ensure every order is fulfilled accurately and that customers receive a positive, professional experience.

Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service and Order Fulfillment
• Assist customers with loading and unloading materials in a safe and efficient manner.
• Help customers select products while providing accurate information and a high level of service.
• Prepare and organize materials to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.
• Verify product types and quantities to prevent errors in deliveries and pickups.
• Responsible for bulk deliveries to customer job sites, including loading, securing materials, and completing deliveries safely and professionally.
• Serve as a driver for flatbed deliveries as needed.
Yard Operations and Maintenance
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard environment.
• Organize and separate materials according to company standards.
• Perform general yard maintenance including sweeping, organizing, and waste removal.
• Assist with inventory counts and report any shortages or discrepancies.
• Complete other duties as assigned, including occasional support for properties owned by the business owner, as needed.
Equipment and Safety
• Operate equipment safely and in accordance with company policies.
• Inspect equipment regularly and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
• Adhere to all company safety procedures and guidelines.
Team Collaboration
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Support other departments as needed to maintain efficiency and service standards.
Requirements:
• Must meet DOT medical requirements and maintain a current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT card).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL).
• Valid CDL (required).
• Ability to safely lift, move, and stack materials (up to 50+ lbs) and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Comfortable operating or learning to operate equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, and pallet jacks (training may be provided).
• Strong attention to detail, ability to follow written/verbal instructions, and commitment to workplace safety.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work scheduled hours, including seasonal overtime as needed.

The individual in this role is expected to provide excellent customer service, maintain an organized and safe yard, and ensure accurate order fulfillment. Success is measured by efficiency, attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, reliability, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Maintaining a clean work environment and minimizing errors in order handling are essential to this role.
Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the Purchasing & Logistics Manager.
