CDL Driver

This is a full-time, on-site position for a Driver at the John Nagle Co. located in Boston, MA.
In this role, the Driver is responsible for transporting seafood products safely and efficiently between suppliers, airports, and retail locations; picking up and delivering inventory; and ensuring proper handling, documentation, and customer service throughout the delivery process.The position plays an important part in maintaining timely deliveries, and high-quality customer service, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, and committed to delivering excellent customer service. They must have a clean driving record, experience handling perishable goods, strong attention to detail for documentation and inventory management, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight delivery schedules.
Responsibilities:
Transport seafood products safely and efficiently between suppliers, airports, and retail locations.
Pick up products from vendors, warehouses, and airport cargo facilities.
Load, secure, and unload perishable seafood products, maintaining proper handling and temperature control.
Collect, verify, and complete delivery documentation (invoices, bills of lading, logs) using tablets, handhelds, or other devices.
Follow assigned routes, maps, and schedules while adapting to traffic, weather, or delivery changes.
Report vehicle defects, accidents, or safety violations promptly.
Maintain compliance with company policies and all applicable DOT, OSHA, and safety regulations.
Deliver excellent customer service while interacting with vendors, airport personnel, and store staff.
Required Skills and Experience:
Valid Commercial Driver’s License with a clean driving record and no recent violations.
Proven experience as a commercial truck driver in delivery, product pickup, or cargo transport.
Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, truck safety procedures, and commercial driving laws.
Ability to plan and follow routes, read maps, road signs, and apply good judgment in unexpected situations.
Experience handling perishable products safely and efficiently.
Excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to adapt to changing schedules and conditions, including traffic, weather, and airport operations.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50–100 lbs regularly.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb in the course of loading/unloading and entering/exiting trucks.
Comfortable working in cold/refrigerated environments while handling seafood.
Ability to sit and maintain focus for long periods while driving.
Ability to operate lift gates, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
Ability to work in varying weather conditions during deliveries.
Ability to use electronic devices for delivery documentation and communication.

Starting Pay Range: $22 - $26/hour DOE (CDL); $17 - $21/hour DOE (non-CDL)
