HIRING: Lead Delivery Driver
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Lead Driver assumes a critical role in delivering and processing material at our shop to meet our customer deadlines. The Lead Driver is accountable for delivering materials to different job sites, shipping/receiving, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment at the warehouse.
Position Measurable Accountabilities:
• Complete safety checklist daily & report any safety hazards
• Follow vehicle policies & state traffic/parking laws 100%
• No negligent/reckless incidents or accidents, noise pollution or complaints about unsafe driving
• Punctual – arrive at jobsite at least 5 minutes before scheduled stop
• Work in agreement with the shipper receiver to properly pack the truck
• Keep a shipping log & be responsible for all deliveries going out
• Loading correct materials & tools on the truck and deliver to the job site efficiently
• No unscheduled stops or riders
• Material is not damaged in transit – in truck securely **Very important**
• Most efficient route taken based on destination and time of day – requires coordination
• Help unload the truck – get material from the truck to the installer or sidewalk
• Complete job costing sheet daily (TSheets)
• Signature on delivery slip, a picture and text to Project Manager before next delivery
• Shipping/Receiving, inspecting ingoing/outgoing orders for accuracy, shelving, staging, sweeping, breaking down boxes, inventory management, organizing warehouse etc.
• Report mechanical/service issues immediately
• Keep all delivery vehicles maintained clean and fueled up
• Use correct vehicle for the job (small delivery - small vehicle)
Requirements:
• Safe driving record with a valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass a drug test & have/able to obtain a DOT medical card
• 1 years of experience driving a 26’ or larger box truck (CDL License Drivers are encouraged to apply!)
• Ability to lift, up to 50 pounds
• Good verbal and written English communication skills.
