Position Purpose:

Shred-it Pawtucket, RI Plant is hiring a Local Route Truck Driver. You will be responsible for operating a Class B Box Truck with built in shredder providing industry leading levels of service to clients while taking care of all customer document destruction needs. This involves loading and unloading the truck and ensuring that all cargo is safely secured before transport.

***Mon-Fri; 6:00am to 3pm; $19hr Time & 1/2 after 40hrs***

Key Job Activities:

• Drive & Operate Class B Box Truck in a safe and efficient manner.
• Operate shredder attached to truck onsite/offsite in order to destroy confidential information.
• Maintains a high level of security when emptying consoles and/or collection totes by ensuring all documents are retrieved and the consoles/containers are securely locked. Services accounts using a hand-held device, ensuring console/containers are barcoded, locations are up to date, and the accuracy of type and quantity of consoles/containers.
• Manages assigned routes ensuring customers’ confidential material collected and serviced in a timely and accurate manner.
• Complies with all local, state and federal laws governing driver fitness and hours of service. Complete and maintain DOT logs when applicable.
• Performs pre-trip, post-trip checks, and driver check-in on assigned truck, prior to leaving or closing for the day. Reports any maintenance problems to Transportation/Dispatcher for follow-up.  
• Performs other duties and responsibilities, as needed.

Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid CDL Required. Driver will operate Class B Truck.
• Clean driving record required.
• Ability to obtain & maintain a DOT Med Card.
• At least 1 year of Commercial Driving experience preferred.
• Must be able to operate a hand held device.
