Overview of Company
Plymouth & Brockton Street Railway Company (P&B) is a locally based bus passenger transportation company. Established in 1888, for over 125 years P&B has offered dependable transportation to the traveling public in Southeastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod. P&B operates a fleet of over 60 vehicles including trolleys, transit and coach buses, which offer regular route service between Cape Cod and the South Shore to downtown Boston and Logan International Airport, contract shuttle transportation to government agencies, and charter and tour service throughout the USA and Canada.
As a key player in an evolving industry, P&B is focused on growth and looking for ambitious operators who share the same goals.
Job Overview
Title: Motorcoach Operator
Department: Operations
Reports To: Operations Supervisors
As an employee of P&B, motorcoach operators are trained as “Professional Drivers,” since they are skilled in safe and smooth driving techniques and at the same time, present themselves to the public. A Professional Driver is one of skill, perfection, finesse, and courtesy. In a sense, every driver is a public relations person, not only selling themselves, but also the Company and its product – transportation. Drivers who realize they are salespersons make their job pleasant, not only for the people they come in contact with, but for themselves.
In public transportation, the product we sell is service. Personal service is the direct responsibility of the driver, as it is the driver who deals directly with the public and it is the driver who will determine the Company’s public image. The first impression is most important to the Company.
