Duties & Responsibilities

·         Responsible for the monitoring and daily observation, ensuring safe operation of the fleet performing its duties in the public.  

·         Responsible for overseeing the company motor vehicle policy compliance and provide monthly driver scorecard to support safety program initiative

·         Responsible for Classroom and Field training of newly hired drivers

·         Responsible for Classroom and Field re-training of High Risk Drivers.

·         Provides instruction in safe driving techniques in both highway and urban driving conditions

·         Reports to Fleet Safety Manager

 
  

 

 

Qualifications

·         HS Diploma or equivalent

·         Have 10 years driving experience

·         Possess a valid CDL license and D.O.T. Medical Card

·         Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of safe truck driving and all of the laws and DOT regulations. Driving instructors must also be capable of demonstrating the Smith System curriculum subject matter for the students or equivalent system

·         Ability to assess student performance, and provide constructive feedback, coaching and guidance to improve driving skills

·         Ability to work independently as well as in a team situation

·         Ability to take direction and feedback well

·         Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate via email as well as in person
