A Shuttle Operator for WeDriveU will drive a shuttle bus, following scheduled, pre-determined routes transporting passengers. 

Essential job functions:

• Attendance, as well as meeting qualitative and quantitative performance standards
• Reliability and punctuality as the van routes follow specific time schedules
• Compliance with all traffic laws, and federal and state transit regulations
• Ability to safely operate and drive a bus without a break for a minimum period of one hour and 45 minutes
• Ability to adhere to the assigned schedule and make frequent stops along the assigned route
• Working a split shift
• Ability to interact cordially and professionally with all passengers, even if they are unruly
• Excellent communication skills with central dispatchers/managers regarding maintenance/service needs, road concerns, accidents, and other traffic disruptions using two-way radios or hands-free devices
• Excellent communication skills with passengers (to answer questions about schedules, routes, transfer points, and delays)
• Full range of peripheral vision
• Completion of daily driver logs, inspection reports, and passenger tracking counts
• Flexibility and ability to follow directions and adapt to different makes/models of buses and different routes depending on operational needs

Skills Required and Physical Demands:

• Ability to perform a basic manual inspection of the van prior to the route, including checking bus tires, lights, and oil, and ensuring proper destination signs are displayed
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds to assist with loading and unloading ADA passengers
• Ability to assist passengers with loading and unloading bicycles on bus bike racks

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 year work experience as a Commercial Driver
• Valid Class B Commercial Drivers' License, with a P endorsement and no restrictions (except corrective lenses or automatic transmission)
• Passenger Endorsements Required
• Clean driving record
