Drivers need a Class C CDL, with Passenger endorsement (no Air Brakes or School Bus required). We drive 25’ cutaway buses, which are 10 to 10’3” tall.
Full time drivers (32 hour minimum) are offered health, dental, and vision benefits, as well as some vacation and personal time. Part time employees are not eligible for benefits, although I *think* they may be eligible for some vacation or personal time. They may work more than 32 hours as they pick up work.
Because we operate M-F 5 am to 9 pm, and Saturday 8 am to 6 pm, flexible availability is a MUST. Bids may include some Saturday work, or split shifts (although we try very hard to avoid this).
Shifts are assigned on a seniority basis. Union membership is required (ATU Local #22), and begins after a 90 day probationary period.
Lastly, the drivers are employees of First Transit; First Transit provides the operational team for MetroWest RTA. MetroWest RTA provides service to Framingham, Natick, Wayland, Marlborough, Southborough, Hopkinton, Ashland, Holliston, Milford, Sherborn, Wellesley, and Newton; MWRTA may also be expanding soon.
Requirements:
- Class B or C with passenger endorsement
- Clean driving record
- Drug test & background check
- Experience a plus, but willing to train
- Must be a good worker
- Day & night shifts available
