JOB DESCRIPTION - Non CDL with the opportunity for advancement into a CDL truck
As Crown continues celebrating over 100 years in business, we control the Northeast market with strong brand recognition, superior products, and a solid plan for the future. We are seeking a qualified applicant to join our close-knit, family-owned organization as a Route Jumper. Our Route Jumper will cover routes in the absence of the regular Route Service Representative and deliver our products while handling all related paperwork and all customer requests, questions, or issues. Route Jumpers make special “off-day” and “customer need” deliveries and pick-ups and will help out during busier holiday weeks.
The ideal candidate has excellent customer service skills, is detailed oriented, and can work independently in a fast paced environment. He or she has a high school diploma or GED, route driving experience preferred, a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record, and a DOT medical card. Professional communication skills (verbal and written), good time management/organization and math skills, and the physical stamina to perform the duties of this job are all required.

RESPONSIBILITIES
· Delivers clean uniforms, linens, floor mats, and other products to current customers
· Picks up soiled products at customer locations
· Maintains a high level of customer satisfaction by proactively communicating with the customer any changes to products, invoices, or other concerns that may arise
· Responds and resolves customer issues, complaints, or requests and communicates all concerns/issues to the Service Manager
· Meets all required goals and objectives regarding up selling of products
· Handles, properly and accurately, all paperwork related to deliveries including, but not limited to, invoices and Route Accountability Sheets
· Immediately reports any mechanical defects or problems with truck to a Branch Service Manager
· Immediately reports to District Manager or a Branch Service Manager involvement in any vehicular accident
· Follows all policies and procedures as they relate to the Fleet Safety Manual
· Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
· High school diploma or GED required; some college coursework preferred
· Experience driving vehicles with GVW of 10,000 lbs or more preferred
· Able to communicate in a professional manner both verbally and in writing
· Excellent customer service skills
· Able to perform basic math calculations
· Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required
· DOT medical card (or able to obtain one)
· Able to frequently lift/carry 50-75 pounds
· Able to push/pull linen bins/delivery hamper weighing up to 200 pounds
· Able to drive extensively in varied weather conditions
· Work includes risk of exposure to blood borne pathogens
· One to two years of route delivery experience preferred
