Tighe Trucking is looking for an over the road full time Class A Driver based in Woburn, MA. The candidate in this position is responsible for the efficient transportation of product to customers in a matter and condition that meets customer and company requirements. Also responsible for the timely reporting of overages, shortages, damages and delays.
This position requires at least 2-3 layovers.
Responsibilities
Deliveries
Transport and deliver goods in accordance with the schedule as determined by Dispatcher. Assist in unloading freight as required. Properly secure loads and ensure loads are within weight limits
Quality
Verify count and condition of goods loaded and unloaded. Make reports of overages, shortages and breakage/damage as needed. Maintain daily driver logs. Complete vehicle inspection reports.
Driving
Operate the truck/trailer units in a safe manner. Report any vehicle problems and defects to Transportation Manager. Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) and other standards and regulations. Maintain a good driving record.
Relationships
Ensure good customer relations by consistently delivering orders on time and acting in a courteous and professional manner
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma
Experience: 1+ years of verifiable experience
Knowledge/Skills: Valid Class “A” Driver’s license and skill in the safe operation of different types of trucks. DOT physical certification approval and a yearly physical are necessary
Special Requirements: Pass pre-employment test, drug test and background check
