What began as a four-Duck, 15-employee business on October 4, 1994, has grown to a fleet of 28-Ducks, 125-employee powerhouse in the Boston tourism market.

Since inception, Boston Duck Tours was voted by Boston Magazine as “Best of Boston” in the city tour category, and voted Boston.com’s “Best City Tour”. 

Our mission is to operate a profitable and unique sightseeing tour that is perceived by the leaders, citizens, and guests of Boston to be of historical and educational value, a positive asset to the community, and FUN.

What we are looking for in our Drivers:

·         CDL class A or B Driver with passenger endorsement

·         Driving in a team of a Driver and Narrator/Captain

·         A clean driving history needed, 

Driving record requirements:

Cannot have more than 2 events in the same year and no more than 5 within any 10 year period. NO DUI’s ever.

·         Know the exact route of the tour which the bus is supposed to take

·         Ensure every passenger is safe during the tour and all the traffic rules and regulations are followed

·         Working 5 days on 2 days off

·         Set schedules and working only in daylight hours

·         Season is from the beginning of March to End of November

·         Must have High School Diploma or GED

Our pay structure:

·         Training pay $18/hr (2 weeks), Starting Pay $20/hour, the pay could increase to $22/hour if you have a Captain License and your team member does not.

End of the season Safety bonus

$1/hour accident free season

Up to $5/hour for 5 accident free seasons

Our first criteria in the hiring process is a driving record evaluation and if that passes we can move on to the interview, background check, etc.

We are looking for people who do not have DUIs at all, no more than 2 moving violations in a year with a total of no more than 5 offenses within a 10 year period.  Our policy goes back as far as the record goes back.

Must speak good enough english that there are no big communication issues.

The season is from mid march to the end of November.  The season drops off after labor day when we begin progressive lay off until the end of the season as business demands.  Unemployment and benefits during layoff time.  We pay 80% health and dental.. Pay every 2 weeks.  Health 46.50, 93.00 and 139.48 single, employee +1 and family and Dental is 3.69 and 11.48 for single and family per pay period. (every 2 weeks)

***Employees earn sick time during the first 90 days of employment, but will not be permitted to use any paid sick time until on and after the 90th day of employment
