The Town of Framingham seeks individuals for its Apprentice Equipment Operator program within the Department of Public Works
This is an entry level position designed to hire individuals who demonstrate the attitude and aptitude to perform public works job functions but lack elements of the minimum entrance requirements. Individuals hired into this classification will be considered temporary employees for a period not to exceed six months. During this period employees are required to obtain a Massachusetts CDL Class B with air brake endorsement and a 2B Hoisting license. Employees who obtain the required licenses and receive a performance evaluation rated satisfactory or higher will be reclassified as permanent employees.
Duties of the position include:
· Driving and operating assigned motor equipment in accordance with all applicable regulations and safety practices;
· Performing skilled laboring and related work incidental to assigned tasks; performing laborers duties when not performing operator duties.
· Performing semi-skilled tasks involving, but not limited to; installation, maintenance, repair and replacement of pipe, water hydrants, valves, mains, service connections and other appurtenances that are part of the water and wastewater system.
Ø Salary $17.12 Per Hour
Ø Monday – Friday 7:00am to 3:00pm
Ø May be required to work overtime
